A Voice for the Earth

A Voice for the Earth, Olivia Rosebery is a singer-songwriter, poet, sound healer and earth activist
based in the Northern Rivers, Bundjalung Country of Australia.

With a soul-stirring resonance she echoes ancient wisdom in her songs
that unfurl from the spirit of the land.
Through her soulful earth song Olivia welcomes
a deep remembrance of our eternal and inherent nature.

Her earthy melodies and poetic prose are rooted in her deep love for the natural world, connection to country, studies in earth-based art and performance ritual during her early twenties at university, her continued love for deep ecology, rites of passage, personal journey in reverence and learning from indigenous cultures and earth-centred spirituality around the world. Her music resounds in an embodied practise and facilitation in empowering the voice as a healing modality with her ongoing studies in meditation, Nada Yoga, vibrational medicine, bodywork, ancient and somatic wisdom.

Devoted to the path of the heart through the power of deep listening, nature, and sound, Olivia has shared for over a decade her passion in guiding sound journeys and since 2014 has been at the forefront of facilitating Voice Activations and Transformational Vocal Sessions.

Olivia’s song calls us to to remember the song of the earth, to become the sound in loving presence.

Her song unfurls from the spirit of the land,
from the smokey jungles of the city,
from the mud and moss of the forests,
the roots and canopies of a fig tree,
in the deep waters - echoing whale songs of the ocean,
the gentle cascades and thunderous path of the rivers,
in the beckoning wind and rustling gums of the mountain tops,
in the rich dry circles of a vision quest,
in the whispering wisdom of the grandfathers and grandmothers,
and in the starry eyes of the beloved.

While Olivia today shares her original soulful earth-medicine music, her journey with music began with a broad education in music - studying jazz, classical, soul and contemporary voice with various teachers, diving into music , inspired by mozarts the magic flute - at first learning music theory and performing in the band with the silver flute at age seven, and singing in six part choral choirs from a young age. She went on to study voice with professional teachers across musical theatre, classical, jazz and soul. As a young teenager, age fourteen Olivia started honing her gift for improvisation as the front-woman singer for a 40-piece big band that performed at various jazz festivals in New South Wales, Australia.
Then on to study elective classes of music theory at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Age seventeen she was performing with a jazz quartet and writing her first songs.

A child of the earth, from a young age taking respite in nature, ritual, astrology, indigenous culture and the esoteric - Olivia was inspired and developed a love for devotional music through her practises and studies in yoga. Mantra and her own song writing became an ally through life and she discovered as she entered adulthood that her voice connected her to something bigger, a tool for healing and a gateway
to deep presence as she began a steep spiritual journey of transformation and insight.

Over the past decade Olivia has been devoted to her studies in voice, sound, bodywork, yoga, rites of passage and has been deeply immersed in deeply loves her colourful and earth-centric community along the east coast of Australia.
